Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Civil society organizations (CSOs) play a vital role in the development process by advocating for social change, providing services, and holding governments accountable. In Offa Local Government Area (LGA), Kwara State, CSOs have been actively involved in various community development projects, including education, health, and human rights. However, the effectiveness of the relationship between local governments and CSOs is often shaped by factors such as political climate, governance structures, and mutual interests. Understanding this relationship is crucial for optimizing the contribution of both entities to local development.
This study aims to examine the relationship between Offa LGA and civil society organizations, focusing on how collaboration, communication, and mutual understanding influence the implementation of development programs in the area.
